World of Anterra Dialogue — Ultima-Style Questions & Typing
Ask-your-own-question dialogue inspired by Ultima: typing, riddles, and nonlinear talks. What Kickstarter and Steam screenshots confirm pre-release.
FAQ
How does World of Anterra dialogue work?
Is World of Anterra like Ultima?
Can you type your own questions in World of Anterra?
What dialogue options appear in screenshots?
What makes World of Anterra dialogue different?
You are expected to investigate, not passively click through every line. The official site and Kickstarter description describe an Ultima-inspired inquiry system: players ask questions, may type their own prompts, and can hit puzzles or riddles embedded in conversation. Story is nonlinear, and tutorials aim for minimal text with animated icons elsewhere.
This is a fan guide on worldofanterratips.wiki, not an official 81monkeys page. For combat tied to the same NPCs, see combat system; for written quests, compare the journal screenshot below with world and overworld travel.

Can you really type your own questions?
Yes—according to Kickstarter and official site copy. Both state players can type their own questions instead of only picking from fixed lists. Public Steam demo footage with live typing has not been verified as of October 27, 2026; treat typing as announced design until a dated build shows it working.
Kickstarter also notes a node-based dialogue system with NPC-specific lines and shared regional or global knowledge pools (2022 campaign text).
What buttons show in the Hunter camp screenshot?
Explain is visible; other camp verbs are not verified here. The official Steam capture shows Hunter in a forest camp with an Explain dialogue button. Merchant armor screenshots elsewhere prove shop-style UI exists in the build, but this Hunter frame does not document Shop, Job, or Goodbye labels in our cited asset notes.
Do not invent hidden romance flags, faction meters, or karma scores—those systems are not described in verified public sources.

How do quests and journals relate to dialogue?
The quest journal screenshot shows a Luca region map and villager tasks (Holland, Mira, Jerry, Lark, with completed lines crossed out). That shows quest tracking on paper-style UI alongside NPC names visible in the art. Exact journal automation (auto-fill vs manual) is unannounced.
Letters and inventory clutter appear in other shots—see languages for localization of handwritten props. Hendrik’s letter is lore texture on a development screenshot, not expanded here as verified main-quest spoilers.
Is the story linear if dialogue is open-ended?
Official positioning is nonlinear. Kickstarter highlights regional cultures, tenets, and religions—The Eye and Antheism for faith lines, magic four vibrations for arcane rules. Branch diagrams and ending counts are not published.
For release timing, see release date and demo and Early Access.
